Fuck PETA
I've always been a big meat-eater and milk-drinker, and I've never had the money or time to consider becoming a vegan. I want to try now, though, but I don't know where to start, because I really love the taste of meat, and I have a very low income. What should I do?

If money is standing in your way of the diet or life style you wish to have, then there’s nothing to be ashamed of(?) if that is even the correct wording. I have the privilege of choosing the diet and foods and clothes that eat, wear and buy.
You can always be as vegetarian or vegan as you can, within your monetary limits. But it is up to you and how you can manage it.

Why? Here are three good reasons.
Ethical treatment of animals? Really?
Sexist marketing ploys (galore, Google any PETA ad and it’s probably a photoshopped woman’s body to sell their message)
Sympathizes with the police state

Our second rescue from beagles who have lived their entire lives inside a research laboratory. These beagles have known nothing except the confines of metal cages. They have known no soft human touch, no warm bed, no companionship, no love. They have never been outside or sniffed a tree or grass.

Finally, after years of being poked and prodded, these beagles are FREE! ARME got the call that a facility was willing to release them to us after they had been used in several tests. We picked them up on June 8th and now they are all in loving foster homes, and one has already been adopted. (Click here too see the video).

I had tears in my eyes when I watched the video. It reminds me a little of Flint when I got him from the shelter and he was able to run free without a leash for the first time in his life.

WHY HONEY ISN’T VEGAN.

most of the information i have gleaned for this post is from a wonderful movie called
vanishing of the bees, which is conveniently on netflix right now for your viewing pleasure.
the very basis of veganism itself is that animals are not ours to exploit for any reason whatsoever. this includes wearing their pelts, taking products that come from their body and their flesh itself, using products that have been tested on animals and supporting companies that practice vivisection, and the usage of animals for entertainment value, such as circuses and bullfighting.
obviously, honey is a product that is made by bees, so by this very logic, the consumption of their honey goes against the very definition of veganism.
but since this seems to not be enough to dissuade “beegans” from consuming honey, here are a few other reasons.
contrary to seemingly popular belief, honey is not made specifically for human consumption. it is made to feed larva and to feed the worker bees themselves. larva also feed on pollen, which is where they get the majority of their nutrients. honey is like the red bull of the bee world, it provides energy for them. nurse bees, who tend to the queen, must also consume honey and pollen in order to make royal jelly, which is fed to the larva. the amount of royal jelly fed to larva will determine which become worker bees and which will become queen bees. royal jelly is also harvested by humans, along with beeswax.
in a typical beekeeping situation, the beekeeper will remove only what is perceived as “excess” honey from the hive. this “excess” is in fact what the hive stores in order to survive the winter months. sometimes the beekeeper will remove all of the honey, and feed the bees sugar or corn syrup in autumn, a practice that is viewed with distaste by many traditional beekeepers. this is common practice in an industrial beekeeping scenario, and is invasive and devastating to the bees.
another disturbing practice is the removal and beheading of the queen. like many aspects of industrial farming, humans aim to breed for certain qualities, like breeding cows that produce large quantities of milk, or cows with larger flanks. beekeeping is no different, and different queens will produce larva that have desired traits.
the old queen is removed, her head is “pinched” and she is killed. before the new queen is introduced she will be sedated, shoved face down into a tube with her thorax hanging out, artificially inseminated (raped), have a number glued to her, and placed in a small cage inside the hive. this is to insure her survival, since for the first 7 to 10 days the hive will most likely reject her and try to kill her.
most people associate beekeeping with an intimate, respectful relationship between apiarist and bee. sadly with the rise of industrial animal keeping, this is no longer a common reality.
a lot of people are environmental vegans, which is rejecting the usage of animal products on the basis that the industrial practice is unsustainable and damages the environment. when these aforementioned practices are put into use, and many more, it can cause something called “colony collapse disorder”, which could ultimately lead to the devastation and downfall to our ecosystem completely.
since the beginning of time bees and humans have shared a special and sacred relationship. it is time to stop exploiting our hardest workers, and give them the respect and protection they deserve. this is one of the crucial keys to saving our environment, and a huge step in the right direction of non-human animal rights.

BlackRock owns over 160 million shares in AstraZeneca (AZN), the top customer of HLS. BlackRock funds animal abuse inside HLS by investing in such Big Pharma scum. BlackRock should cut their ties with AstraZeneca and HLS, and stop funding the torture and murder of 500 animals every single day!

BlackRock is quite aware that HLS is the most exposed animal experimentation laboratory in the world. Today, tomorrow and until they cut their ties, make sure BlackRock gets the message loud and clear: deal with them, deal with activists.

A list of names and contact details for BlackRock executives and employees are listed below. Please politely educate them about their unethical investment and tell them their funding of animal abuse is not acceptable!

Western black rhino declared extinct
A sad day, as it’s believed that no wild black rhinos remain. We have poachers and bush medicine to thank for this tragedy:
“You’ve got to imagine an animal walking around with a gold horn; that’s what you’re looking at, that’s the value and that’s why you need incredibly high security.”

There goes another one :/ when will we learn god damn.

(Part 2)... any organization or group that could provide me stuff to hand out (other than PETA). Or if you have stuff yourself that you are willing to send me, I could give you my adress. So I'm looking for printed brochures, texts, pamphlets, anything about going veg and environment that I could hand out to 40 people. So if you have some or know organizations I could contact in order to do so. Thank you very much and sorry for the multiple ASKs. JT
